Location: BROAD STREET MALL SHOPPING CENTRE, READING
Client: BROAD STREET MALL PARTNERSHIP
Construction Value of Scheme: £1.2 MILLION
Architect: ASHLEY ASSOCIATES
The opening of the new Oracle Shopping Centre in Reading resulted in Kaymac tendering and securing a contract to refurbish and upgrade the existing shopping mall in Reading town centre. This involved conversion of the roof top stores and buildings into a car park, demolition of the basement stores and infilling of the Atrium to provide an additional shopping area at ground floor and storage and plant relocation from roof to basement. The ground floor and the first floor Atrium areas were refurbished and upgraded to make the centre a more appealing and interesting place for the public. At all times the centre continued to trade.
